Our Story

Mission Statement

PPBC is dedicated to enhancing the vitality of Blues and American Roots music by supporting live performance and education.

Vision

We are committed to the celebration and enjoyment of the blues music scene in the Pikes Peak region by supporting platforms, live performances, and education for the blues-loving public.

History of the Pikes Peak Blues Community

The Pikes Peak Blues Community was formed in 2003 to promote Blues and American roots music in the Pikes Peak region. Since its founding, PPBC has done this many different ways, including the free Paint the Town Blue concert series held in Old Colorado City during the summers; hosting local competitions to attend the International Blues Challenge sponsored annually by the Blues Foundation in Memphis, TN; mentoring young Blues bands as part of their Youth Outreach endeavors; and sponsoring Blues concerts and jams at various local establishments; a weekly Sunday Blues Brunch at Armadillo Ranch in Manitou Springs, among other events and activities.
